Hancock Day School
Est. 1953

For any Organization strategic planning is key in remaining true to the mission of the organization. Hancock Day School is no different. The Board is charged with holding in trust the future of the school, and is tasked with developing a strategic plan that assures school leadership will hold fast to the mission statement.

The planning process involves the Board of Trustees and the Head of School as lead collaborators. Other constituents groups are included as well through surveying and other means of communication throughout the school year. The Board has also engaged with professional consultants for guidance and insight throughout the process. Additionally, our accrediting agency, Southern Association of Independent School, offers recommendations in their reports which are utilized in the planning process. The strategic planning schedule therefore, mirrors the five year accreditation cycle in that every five years the Board updates the strategic plan.

The result is a strategic plan that serves as a road map for the Board and Head of School. It is designed to be both directive and flexible. As a living document there may be adjustments along the way, but overall it serves as a key navigational tool for those in leadership.
