Email: shill@hancockdayschool.orgVeteran’s Day is November 11.  In the library, we are going to read books about veterans and this holiday in PreK – 5th grade.  During our lessons, I would love to share pictures of a veteran(s) in your family.   If you would like to participate, please take a picture of a veteran’s photograph and email it to Susan Hill. Please include the photograph, the veteran’s name, the branch of service and/or time of service, and your child’s name.  I know your children will really like this activity.  My email address is shill@hancockdayschool.org  Thanks in advance for making this a special lesson.

HANCOCK HONORS OUR VETERANS

Next week at Hancock we will weave a discussion of Veterans’ Day and its importance into our daily activities.  One activity will be to make an HONOR WALL in Hancock Hall.  The American flag will serve as the background for the HONOR WALL.  We are asking each family to discuss with their child any family members and relatives who are currently serving our country or who are veterans.  Please create a short memory card by writing the person’s name and any thoughts or memories to honor them.  Thoughts and memories are optional.  Send the card to school with your child by Wednesday to give to his/her teacher.  The cards will then be posted on the HONOR WALL.  The card could be a 3×5 card or a piece of paper of similar size.
